Filesystem Size

Hi,
What is the SIZE limitation of file system on HP-UX 10.20 amd HP-UX 11.00? We are expecting 200 GB of data on a single file system.

Thanks

Re: Filesystem Size

Withouth the largefiles setting for the filesystem, the limit is 2GB files, otherwise its much much bigger..

The filesystem has to be created with the -o largefile option (or modified via the fsadm -o largefile option) and also has to be mounted with the same option for this option to take affect.

Re: Filesystem Size

Hi:

Under 10.20 the maximum size of the filesystem is 128GB.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: Filesystem Size

Hi Again:

Under 11.x the maximum filesystem size is 1TB for both 64-bit and 32-bit. The maximum filesize is 128GB for 32-bit and 1TB for 64-bit.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: Filesystem Size

Hi,

In the attached document it describes both HFS
and JFS file system sizing. The maximum for JFS HP-UX 10.20 using the -o largefiles option is 128Gb. Under HP-UX 11.00 it is 1TB as long as you have patch PHKL_22719 installed. It is possible under HP-UX 11i to go up to 2TB.
