finding a reference to machine no longer on network

Hi All,

Through some unknown file I am referencing a library that was compiled on a machine that has been removed from our network.

In all, there are 1000+ files which reference libraries created on this same (removed) machine but most (all but one??) have been chatr'ed and checked with ldd to make sure they are picking things up from the new, correct location. SHLIB_PATH contains the relevant information.

When I try to access this unknown file the system tries to mount the file system of the missing machine.

My question is this:
Can I use the date of the mount point that is created to help locate this missing library or is this information irrelevant?

Thx

Shalom,

To your narrow question: Probably not. When the mountpoint was created probably has no relation to when the library was compiled.

Perhaps a find / -exec grep -l hostname {} \; will find you some evidence.
