Re: Finding your postings and unassigned responses

Hi Stephen,

Nice tool, just a few questions:
Does it cover non hp-ux forums such as the storage forums?

Later,
Bill
It works for me (tm)

Re: Finding your postings and unassigned responses

Hi Bill,

No, it does not cover the other forums. Only covers whatever's under the HP-UX forum hierarchy.

Hope this helps. Regards.

Re: Finding your postings and unassigned responses

Could it be extended to (optionally tickable) display the threads in which the searched user *replied* to a question?

I've just started to participate, and I'm hunting down perl questions (if time permits) and some names turn up on a regular basis in answering those questions. I'd like to be able to search for the postings of these posters to look if there are issues in there that might be worth promoting to the perl5-porters group (of which I am an active member)

Re: Finding your postings and unassigned responses

Hi procura,

You are among a few forumers who has suggested this ie. tracking a forumer's responses. I may be working on that in future.

At the meantime, you can browse through the rabbit responses of a particular forumer by accessing that forumer's profile. You are more likely to find the solution to your problem in these rabbit answers.

Hope this helps. Regards.

Re: Finding your postings and unassigned responses

I was doing this request not to find answers, but to find messages that could use a solution :)

In the profile preferences, I cannot tick 'perl' as an expert subject, but I should consider myself as such. I was looking for perl questions left unanswered or answers that should be corrected (sometimes the answers are not wrong, but new features or other developments may render the previous answers suboptimal.

Re: Finding your postings and unassigned responses

Hi Steven,
In search result with my full name I got one posting which is not posted by me!
Looks strange!

I am not complaining but for your information only:)

Re: Finding your postings and unassigned responses

Hi Animesh,

Let me know if it still happens after this Sunday. Might be due to that a coinciding shift of indexing pages crawled while new postings were being submitted.

Thanks for notifying. Regards.

Re: Finding your postings and unassigned responses

Hi,

it's a very usefull tool. i like it. But it does not show up all my problem postings.
How often do you update it and do you scan the whole itrc forums? I miss at least my OpenView Omniback postings.

Heiner

Re: Finding your postings and unassigned responses

Finding answers to your own questions is better done through your profile. Click in the left column on your name and you'll see a summary of how many answers you still have to asign points, and at the bottom a list of recent responses.

Now click on the [ Edit ] button in the upper right cornet and skip all to the bottom, and you'll see a summary of the questions you've posted (provided that you've ticked the "Notify me by mail" option). From there you can enter the thread of choice.

This is just a refresh to let those users know they can find their posts that forgot to assign points to and assign them again.

Re: Finding your postings and unassigned responses

Hi Heiner,

Update is performed once weekly usually on a Sunday on only the HP-UX forum ie.
IT resource center forums > hp-ux

The openview forum is a separate forum from hp-ux. will look into scanning that as well in near future.

Hope this helps. Regards.

Re: Finding your postings and unassigned responses

I only get the first two threads I ever posted

Search postings (not responses) from:

(Only postings from 1st Jan 2001 onwards are processed. Records sorted by date of posting in descending order.)

Last updated: 16 Mar 2002

Postings from procura
No. of responses assigned points: 6 No. of responses not assigned points: 0 Points participation: 100%
Postings with no points awarded at all to any response: 0
Posting Date of last response Date of posting Responses pts assigned Responses pts unassigned
gcc-3.0.4/64 02/27/02
02/26/02 3 0
NFS with AIX-4.2 02/26/02
02/26/02 3 0

And now when I click on my own profile, it states that I have one message to asign point to, but I cannot find it, even when I trace back to 27 Feb 2002.

Do I miss something?
Enjoy, Have FUN! H.Merijn
