force automount to use NFS V3

I have some HP-UX 10.20 Worstation which export and mount there disks with automounter.

I installed PHNE_22288 and PHNE_22877 to enable NFS V3.

I use the old version of automounter (AUTOFS=0), cause I have a problem with the new one.

MOUNTD_VER=
MOUNT_VER=3
in /etc/rc.config.d/nfsconf

when i now mount a disk of the workstations with automount it gets mouted with V2,
if I mount the same disk per hand with mount command NFS V3 is used. (seen with nfsstat -m)

I now want the automounter to use NFS V3 too, is it necessary to use the Autofs for that?

Re: force automount to use NFS V3

Mark,

The legacy (user-space) automounter only can do NFS PV2, and only can do UDP protocol. If you want to use NFS PV3 and/or TCP, you MUST use AutoFS.

Hope this helps,
