force password change

When a new user is added by sam, the user login and prompt to change password on it first login.

Is there a parameter for changing the setting of 'force password change' in HP Trusted System? or is the system by default is always enable to force password change and no way to disable it.

Re: force password change

Hi,

I believe you'd see the same behaviour even if you used useradd rather than SAM. If you could change this behaviour it would be in /tcb/files/auth/system/default; but there's nothing mentioned in the man page.

regards,

Darren.

Re: force password change

Tan,

check all my notes looks that that option DISABLE "force password change at first login" is not there on trusted systems.
By default you have the password change.

Even checked the man pages of modprpw.

That should be the default one.

Let's wait for the other admins posting replies to this.

Thanks

Re: force password change

Using sam I dont think there is a way to disable it...its just one of the built in "features" of sam....if you create a user using useradd and then password to set the password, it does not force the password change unless you give it the -f option.
