Format log
I am using omniback for data backuo. how can i find out the format log ie which user formatted which media etc.

You can create users in omniback and assign them certain functions, Such as one user can only do backups,restores, media mangement etc.
This way you can get details abt each activities.
media.log will give further details.

you can not do that userwise. If you create a user that can do only media operations, then you can be sure that this user formated/initialized the media.
Other than this you wont any other details in media.log.
