Formatting HPUX 11.11 server

Hi. We would like to reformat our HPUX 11.11 server running NNM 7.5 and reinstall the OS and NNM from the CD. Can anyone shed some light on the best method to reformat the server so we can start from scratch?

Just start from scratch. The installation will overwrite the disk. You have to confirm this.

Insert the CDs/DVDs and boot.
The process will ask you if you want to overwrite data presently on disk.

Do you mean the HPUX installation will overwrite the disk?

Yes of course.

The installation will create a new LVM structure on the disk. This is like a "format C:" on your PC.

Best thing to do if you are sure is the old boot off the Core OS Cd/DVD.

One of those nice sequential devices that show up will be the DVD. Usually its first or last.
