frecover (5441)

Hi folks! I'm tracking down an frecover problem. It started out as an frecover(5435) error and I searched the list and made the recommended max_dsiz_64bit change and it did not help. I also changed the max_dsiz (32bit) and now it gives me the frecover(5441) error which is an malloc: not enough virtual memory to use fastsearch. Anyone know what the magic number for these two parms are? I've got 3 gigs of mem and the swap is configured to an equal amount.

Thanks,
Javier

Re: frecover (5441)

Javier,

having maxdsiz increased you should also check if maxtsiz or maxssiz have to be increased, too. Also check max_thread_proc and nkthread. Have a look on the on-line help of SAM.

Re: frecover (5441)

Hi Javier,

I'm not sure if there is a magic solution for this! Could you let us know how big the index of your fbackup data is (use frecover -I /tmp/myindex -f ) and what size your modified kernel parms are.

regards,

Darren.

Re: frecover (5441)

Most likely are the maxssize at this point. The above mentioned URL will point you at that target...
