A follwoing error thrown while frecover is going on
frecover(2114): read error from input device (I/O error)
frecover(2114): read error from input device (No such device or address)
frecover(2113): unable to resync backup media
I have taken a oracle cold backup and tried to restore using frecover and thrown abovementioned error.
Urgent help is greately appreciated. Is there any problem in DAT? or any other issue.
Regards,

Solution
Hi Mehul:
This could be a bad tape. Try cleaning the drive several times. Try placing a new tape in the drive and verify the drive's functionality with a simple 'tar'. If the drive operates correctly, try recovering your database files again.
If you have multiple tape drives, try another drive with the tape with which you are having problems.
Regards!

Re: frecover problem
Hi,
I/O error sounds like an HW error, something with reading tape. Anyway looking around I found the following thread:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=576975&admit=-682735245+1151172089445+28353475
Have you latest patches about fbackup/frecover?
Just a suggestion.
Best regards,
Fabio
