frecover restore problem to restore password files
Hi Guys,
I'm in the middle of performing DR exercise, I have successfuly cloned the DR machine and now it seems like a prod server, however in production machine I have had tcb enabled but on the DR we dont have this enabled.
So I had to enable the tcb on the DR machine as well in order to restore users password, so they can login and perform their application testing.
When I have used the command 'frecover -xvF -i /tcb/files/auth' this displays the files as it is restoring but in reality nothing gets over written, as it doesn't really restore anything although it dispalys that it has restored the files,
I have also used the graph file to restore the /tcb/files/auth directory but it doesn't even display anything, below is the command I have used,
frecover -xXvf /dev/rmt/0m -g /graph
the graph file has an entry for "i /tcb/file/auth" directory...
Please let me know on how to restore these files successfuly from the backup tape.
Mind you I have already read the backup tape and it has all the files under /tcb/files/auth directory...
Cheers,
Raf

Re: frecover restore problem to restore password files
Hi Guys,
I have resolved this problem, all I had to do was to delete everything in /tcb/files/auth directory and then I have restored the above directory back from the back tape.
It has restored all users password successfully now, I'm now going to close this thread.
Cheers,
Raf
