FREE PRESENTATIONS: Unix and Linux common-disastery recovery tools and log file management
Hello,
I promised to publish revised presentations on
various subjects I did at conferences and
webinars in recent years (I work on many
different versions of Unix. MacOS and Linux):
Here they are:
http://www.circlingcycle.com.au/Unix-and-Linux-presentations
Two of those are hopefully of interest to
those that deal with various flavours of Unix
and Linux:
Comparison-of-Unix-Log-File-Management-Tools-DusanBaljevic-Dec2008.ppt
Unix+Linux-Common-Disaster-Recovery-Tools-DusanBaljevic-May2008.ppt
Cheers,
VK2COT

Re: FREE PRESENTATIONS: Unix and Linux common-disastery recovery tools and log file management
Hi Dusan:
Thanks for sharing! I especially enjoyed the presentation on D/R Tools. The pro/con comparisions and references are very good.
By the way, for what does the moniker 'VK2COT' stand?
Regards!

Re: FREE PRESENTATIONS: Unix and Linux common-disastery recovery tools and log file management
Hello James,
Thank you for the kind words. I like to share
information. I do not pretend to know
everything and am very grateful to
people like you who offer lot of
good advice and wisdom.
These two topics I did because I had trouble
finding anything that summarised
them in one document :)
About VK2COT, it is my Australian unlimited
amateur radio license and callsign. I was
lucky to guess it (yes, in New South Wales,
you do not get the callsign, but you submit your choices - up to three per day).
After three days of failing to find a
free callsign, in pure desperation, I
tried suffix COT and got it :)
I have been a Morse code instructor since
early 70-ies (alas, these days, Morse code
is almost obsolete).
May 2009 bring lot of good health,
peace, joy, and prosperity to all.

No need to keep this open. It is just an message with reference materials.
