fsadm defrag with online JFS reports errors
I have online JFS and I get the following message when performing defragmentation for the directory file.
fsadm: directory 452390 block 0 offset 4 has bad reclen 0
fsadm: directory 454758 block 0 offset 4 has bad reclen 0
Directory Reorganization Statistics (pass 3 of 5)

fsadm: directory 2 block 0 offset 4 has bad reclen 0
Any body know what a "bad reclen" is? Where can I find more info?
Thanks

Re: fsadm defrag with online JFS reports errors
Hi Haim,
Bad reclen => Bad Record Length.
Points to an FS error in this filesystem.
I'd fun fsck -o full against this FS - unmounted. May need 2 passes. By default bad block relocation should be enabled & the data in that block will be moved to a good spot. Then you could run the defrag once more & all should be OK.
Rgds,
Jeff
