fsadm

When I launch fsadm command after I executed
lvextend command I receive this message:
"You don't have a license to run this program".
What is the problem?
(On the server OnLineJFS is installed)

Re: fsadm

Ciao Roberto,

in order to discover if the license is really enabled just launch

vxlicense -p
and
/sbin/fs/vxfs/vxenablef

Do they reply the correct outputs? If the latter command fails then check the entries into /etc/inittab:

vxen::bootwait:/sbin/fs/vxfs/vxenablef -a

Maybe it was not started on boot (for any reasons) and you need to start it manually by

/sbin/fs/vxfs/vxenablef -a

It has to be there in order to work with OnLineJFS.

Did you work correctly with other filesystems or it is the first time with the problem on this system? Just for deeping better the problem...

Best regards,
Fabio

Re: fsadm

We Roberto,

I heard about it.
It could be that you have lost your license due to a ignite or recovery error.
with the command suggested above:
vxlicense -p
you should receive an ERROR output.
so reinstall again the depot.
CD #1 of your Application CDROM set...
hope this helps
