ftp account
I have created an a L2000 HP-UX 11.00 server 5 ftp restricted accounts.
Now I need an ftp account that can access and download only from the 5 home areas of the above ftp's.
Can you suggest me a safe way?

Re: ftp account
Hi,
my idea is to create following directory structure:
/ftphome
/ftphome/home1
/ftphome/home2
.
.
/ftphome/home5
Ftp clients you mentioned with /ftphome/home.. directory and our ftpsuperuser with /ftphome home directory. I would recomend to use guest accounts - then you can easly set home directory (after guest login, chroot command is executed).

Re: ftp account
Hi,
make the 5 ftp's accounts have the homedirs located in the same directory, like:
/ftp/account1
...
/ftp/account5
restrict them only to their home dir.
make the account0 have the home in
/ftp
and there you go.
Make sure you have read and execute permisions for account0 over the account1...5 directories.
