FTP & TELNET Issuse
i have copied config file from
#cp /usr/newconfig/etc/ftpd/examples/ftpaccess /etc/ftpd/ftpaccess
#vi /etc/inetd.conf
uncomment the line of ftp & telnet,
#inetd -c
#netstat -an |grep 21
LISTEN state
This all steps i have done through mp.
I have assigned the same mp ip for one of the lan ex: lan0
Then i have connected through cross cable from laptop.
Here is the problem,
I am not able to ping, ftp & telnet from laptop but i am able to connect through ssh.
After connecting to that server i am able to ping to that laptop where the laptop ip range is same.
From server to laptop i am able to connect through ftp but could not do the file transfer.
It is simply holding.
Please help out in this.
Regards,
Ashok

Re: FTP & TELNET Issuse
Are you able to ftp or telnet to localhost /
login into the server and try to do ftp or telnet to same server.
if you are able to do then check your firewall team ?
if not then check this file /var/adm/inetd.sec file.

What does this mean, exactly? What, exactly,
did you do? What, exactly, happened when you
did it?
What is "laptop"? Some Windows system? Can
it do these things with some other system?
Can any other system do these things with the
HP-UX system?
