FTP Connection closed by remote host

login is normal, but after I issued a command(ls, get,...) I got"connection closed by remote host", and at the same time, a "FTP session closed" is logged into the system log.

This problem seem to happen from the remote Windows workstation with NAT out. across ISA server or RAS service.
Please advise !!

Re: FTP Connection closed by remote host

Kham,
I would start at the Windows machine and test ftp against a local machine.
This proves your ftp is ok on Windows.
Then check the same on the HP box.
Can you ftp from HP to Windows?
If both are working it is the network path between. As ftp is sending both ways are there any firewall restrictions on ports?
Also, on the HP platform are you close to the max processes limit?

Re: FTP Connection closed by remote host

Peter,

Thanks for quick response.

FTP out from Hp server to Windows is Working fine.

My ftp server is HP-UX 11i with up-todate Patches. and supporting over 200 clients from remote location.

Only a handfull remote clients that got this issue.

FTP in from another remote location are fine.

1/ from home pc. I am using Cable from comcast.net NAT out across RAS on windows 2003.

Thanks

This is related to NAT and Firewall rule set-up.

I am closing this issue.
