ftp download HP software

Does any know if I can ftp software form a hp site and download software, instead of HTTP?

Hi:

The ITRC patch database allows you create an FTP download script. It's an option when you specify the desired download format.

What software are you talking about? Anything from software.hp.com requires the web page interface since some of the products are extra cost. For patches, you can ftp to ftp.itrc.hp.com using anonymous ftp. To quickly browse the patches, use this URL (which is really ftp):

ftp://ftp.itrc.hp.com/

Ecellent! can this script then be uploaded onto my HP server and ran to ftp the requested software? What if there is a proxy issue where passwords may need to be supplied.?

There is an ftp tool called snarf that works with proxy and such.

http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Networking/FTP/snarf-7.0/

It seems to most exatly meet your request.

It can be set up to work with the HP ftp site for paches, but not software. http://software.hp.colm is an https only site. as far as I can tell.

Like Bill said use the ftp site. Some time http dowloades the patch and its currupt or some type of issue.
