FTP error 425 can't build data connection

Anyone know what causes this error and how to resolve it?

The client side FTP is HP-UX 10.20.

Sounds like port 21 is open on a firewall, and port 20 is closed.

It does sounds like the server you're ftp'ing to ran out of tcp connection. Try increasing the number of tcp connections on the server side.

Like in my answer to your other post, and to echo Shannon, your port 20 access has been blocked. You need to put a monitor on it to see whether it is a block on incoming, outgoing or both. You did state in your previous post you had made some sort of modifications to your firewall; I'd start there.
