Ftp files belong to root
I have some odd behavior that I can't explain in an HPUX 11.0 system. When the user ftp's in a download, the ownership changes to root somehow. We believe this was done on purpose but no one still working here knows how. Normally this is not an issue, but occasionally the user needs to write over the file that now belongs to root, and he cannot.
Does anyone know how this could be done, and more importantly, undone.

Re: Ftp files belong to root
Hi Denise:
You should be able to use the 'upload' controls as defined in the '/etc/ftpd/ftpaccess' file. See the manpages for 'ftpaccess(4) for details.
Since you are running 11.0, this feature was added with PHNE_14479. The recommended version of this patch is PHNE_23949.
Regards!

Re: Ftp files belong to root
Thanks for the quick response. As it happens, while I was out a co-worker discovered that the customer was unintentionally misleading us on the basic issue. It is resolved now.
