ftp from hpux to windows .. dir tree. .

And for example in the a you have everything 3 directories deep. To get to the homepage files for abnerh youh ave to go to:
/homepages/a/b/n#lsf
abnerh/
From my UX server I can ftp to their windows 2000 webserver. But I cant get any commands to ftp the whole directory tree up to the server. I started to download on my pc from the server but it went soooo slow. Overnight it only got to d. Anyone have any ideas?

ftp to.their.site.com
put /somedir/theirwebtree.tar
Have them find an tar utility to perform the xtraction. There are plenty available for Windoze.

I don't the size of the dir, but the best way would probably to winzip all his/her data into one file. Then ftp.

tar cvf joe_files.tar `ls`
then ftp the file.

You can tar the directory, gzip it, transfer it to the W2K box, and use winzip there. Done it lots of times.
