FTP question

I know that some vendors begin with the wu-ftp software and re-package it with "value-added" functionality as well as injecting their own "versioning" into the resulting software release. Is this the case with the version of FTP on HP systems found in /usr/lbin/ftpd. I believe that the last patch used to update the machine in question was PHNE_30990.

Thanks.
