ftp user

Hi,

i create user for ftp but when he login and use "pwd" he will see the current directory.

i need when he login and use "pwd" he doesn't see the current directory and see "/"

Don't u think you are making it vulnerable.BTW you can assign the home directory of the ftp user in /etc/passwd and the user will reach there when he logs in incase u wan't to restrict the user to his home directory let me know I think I can help you

You want to chroot the ftp environment.

If you want real security you should chroot and use sftp

What in principle chroot does is it locks you into a root environment that is really the home directory. Accessible from this environment must be copies of the commands ftp normally uses, for example ls
