full system backup using SAM

can someone point me to a document or give direction on how to use SAM to do a full system backup

as root

sam
backup and recovery
interactive backup and recovery

choose tape device
actions
back up files interactively

Note: This will not get clean copies of open databases. You will not be able to restore HP-UX boot configuration from this tape.

See attached script that does the boot config backup.
