Hi fellow HPers,
When using ignite to clone a new machine, I found that the ignite's post install script did not run. As a result the /etc/hosts and /etc/nsswitch.conf files are not restored correctly. And the second boot with "OK" message does not occur. If a kernel rebuild is needed this will not occur either. ( Yes I did download the newest Ignite C.6.0.109 )
HP support Found that when the host name or ip is changed in the ignite menus, a script runs that changes the host name and ip in all the /etc/rc.config.d files. This script crashes when it encounted a line more the 511 characters. This occured only for me the /etc/rc.config.d/auditing file.
The temp solution is to move this file to another directory, before running make_tape_recovery -AvI on the source machine. Then move the file back.
The Fix will be in the March 2005 version of Ignite-UX (C.6.2). Change Req= CR JAGaf47666
No response is needed.
This is just an FYI.
Isaac.
