GB Pound sign appearing instead og # (hash pound symbol)
I have a C110 workstation, which I did not configure. It is displayin a ?? (UK Sterling pound sign) instead of a # (has, box or ordinary pound sign).
Why is this and how can I change it?
The ?? still functions as a #, but it just displays wrong.
Thanks

Re: GB Pound sign appearing instead og # (hash pound symbol)
you should talk to Alex Glennie or do a search on the subject "Show me the money" ;)
In any case, it's possibly got to do with your locale
settings in your .profile or your keyboard setting in your x emulator.
Later,
Bill

Re: GB Pound sign appearing instead og # (hash pound symbol)
The problem you reported regarding typing special characters at
the ITE is caused by the ITE not being set to 8bit no parity.
The following escape sequence will set the ITE appropriately:
echo "\033&k1I"
Also, the stty setting should be CS8, -istrip, -ixany, -parenb.
