GDB can't read core files on this machine

Gurus,

I have installed gdb on my PA-RISC 11.11 machine, in order to analyze a core dump. However, when I execute command gdb -c I receive the following output:

GNU gdb 6.4
Copyright 2005 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
GDB is free software, covered by the GNU General Public License, and you are
welcome to change it and/or distribute copies of it under certain conditions.

This GDB was configured as "hppa64-hp-hpux11.11"...(no debugging symbols found)

GDB can't read core files on this machine.

Does this sounds familiar to someone?

Regards,
Mark

Any reason you don't use HP's version of gdb?
