German umlauts
I have a problem printing umlauts from my HP-UX n4000 to jetdirect printers. The reports are being created in Oracle Financials and when viewed in the application all of the special characters (e.g umlauts) can be seen correctly. When copies of the viewed report are sent to our printers they do not print these characters correctly. We are using a variety of different HP printers, laserjets, Ruggedwriters, HP265x etc. All of these give the same results.
This may prove to be an Oracle setup problem (i.e. the initialisation strings in the Oracle specific drivers) but any help would be gratefully received.
Cheers .......... Bob Barba

Re: German umlauts
might be a problem with your model scripts. First print out a simple file containing Umlaute using lp and check the output

Hi there.
We use the net_lj4x model script.
This one works with the reports from Oracle Applications.
You should also check the character set on the printer ( we use PC-8 here ).
