Get EMS mails when setting up EMS
1)EMS send me a mail when EMS monitor request is setup for the first time. I got the following error message from EMS
/system/filesystem/availMb/usr will meet notification criteria when it is < 50.
Its initial value is 387.6
Any comments?
2) In the Network Monitor Resource Class Hierarchy, there are no LAN name displays. Could you advise on the above issues?
Thanks
Senthil

Re: Get EMS mails when setting up EMS
Hello,
When setting up the High Availability monitors in SAM the value entered is specified as:
Notify: When value is < 50
This value is expressed in MB. Your initial value is 387.6 MB which is what is currently being used by /usr.
What does bdf -i show for the /usr file system? Remember this value is displayed in kb so divide by 1024. If you have less than 50 MB remaining then the monitor will e-mail a message to the address specified in the "Notify via e-mail " value.
Monitoring Network resources information can be found at http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B7612-90015/B7612-90015.html

Re: Get EMS mails when setting up EMS
Regarding the Monitoring of the LAN's., you do not say what version of HP-UX yoiu are using, but I suspect your problem could be to do withe the SNMP Emanate Agent.
What do you get when you do :
resls /net
and
resls /net/interfaces
If there are no resources listed, and you are on HP-UX 10.x, you should see if you have the SNMP Emanate Agent patch installed, and if not, install it.
PHSS_26137 is the current patch
