getting messages with regards heartbeat and DLPI when I cmquerycl

When I run cmquercl -n hostname -l lvm, at the end of output, I am getting following warning messages:
"No possible heartbeat networks found. All nodes must be connected to at least one common network. This may be due to DLPI not being installed."

Can you please let me know what caused the messages?

I did configure 2 lan cards for heartbeat, and they are seems to be working.

Can you linkloop between the servers on the heartbeat network?

linkloop -i OUTGOINGPPA MACADDRESSOFREMOTEMACHINE

Example
linkloop -i 2 0x00306E385244
Link connectivity to LAN station: 0x00306E385244
-- OK

Serviceguard 11.12 is way out of support, I suggest you consider updating to a supported version, bearing in mind HP-UX 11.00 goes out of support at the end of the year.

What happens when you do cmquerycl -v -C testfile -n hostname (leave out the -l lvm)

also, run cmscancl and read the output file to look for any hints

Geoff,

linkloop all fine to each other among heartbeat cards.

melvyn,

the command you suggested is fine either, but, I am getting following warning msgs. lan3 and lan5 currently is not being used at all:

Warning: Network interface lan3 on node hostname couldn't talk to itself.
Warning: Network interface lan5 on node hostname couldn't talk to itself.

There are no other warning or error mesgs.

Maybe you have lan3 / 5 in netconf?

Does it create the ascii file anyways?

Can you post it?

It might be fine (an 11.12 issue?)

I too recommend upgrading the OS and Serviceguard version.

Thanks...Geoff
