Getty works only from cmd line

I am setting up a new hp2470 running HPUX11i. I have WYSE325 that only responds to a getty from a cmd line. If I try init q I get no login, If I open a cmd line and enter getty tty1103 9600 the login appears. I am using "H" in gettydefs. When I try to login at the prompt the terminal appears to hang. HELP

I recommend posting this question in the HP-UX section of the ITRC forums. Here's a link to that site:
