Gigabit, FD ,with no auto negotiation
I want to use gigabit speeds with full-duplex but with auto negotiation turned off.
Is it posiible; if so, how?

also you can put configuration in /etc/rc.config.d/hpigelanconf if it ige lan.
you can check what type of card you have using
ioscan -fnClan

You cannot(within my knowledge) disable auto neg if you are using gigabit, as stated above.

On the server the interface needs to be set to auto, the switch needs to support gig
HP_IETHER_SPEED[x]=auto_on
Dont think you can set auto neg to off.

IMO, hardcoding duplex settings has taken-on mythical status these days, even for 100BT.
