Gigabit switches for Jumbo frames

We would like to implement 1000-baseSX hpux adapters using jumbo packets. I can find interoperability info about what switches this adapter works with, but nothing about whether jumbo frames are supported. Some of the performance white papers used Alteon switches.

q) What vendors switches will support hpux/1000-baseSX adapters using jumbo frames?

Cisco are a good bet, i know that the 6000 and 12000 switches support Jumbo frames.

Check out the cisco site for more info.

I believe Avaya switches can handle also - check the Cajun P220G (All gigabit) or the P580 & P880 if you want ethernet also.
Check their website.

Re: Gigabit switches for Jumbo frames

Hello,
I found a document with recomendations about configuration of gigabit interfaces:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/docs/perftune.doc
In the lab description they say they used a Procurve 4000 switch.

Kind regards

Hi again,
here is a link for an switch overview:
http://www.awi.de/leser-services/markt01/11/lan_sh_0601_026.pdf
I know it is not up-to-date but Procurve 1600 and Procurve 2424 seem to support jumbo frames unlike the Procurve 4000 (see previous mail). I am confused too.
