Most of the various documents you will want are on-line at HP's document site:

You can drill down from there for areas like HP-UX Operating System, etc

by Robert F. Sauers, Peter S. Weygant"

I second Anthony's recommendation. The book is well worth the price for someone just getting into performance & tuning on HP-UX. Much ot it also generalizes to other Unix environments.
