Re: GNOME / ignite
All I want to do is get an option to run gnome from the login screen, like i have done with my Solaris and AIX boxes. (the session drop down)
So a user can choose to use CDE/Gnome etc.
I can download and install it all again, which from the docs looks like it will set up what I require. But i just want to enable what i have already installed if possible.
Cheers

Re: GNOME / ignite
HP ships, edit the file
/etc/rc.config.d/desktop to say
"DESKTOP=GNOME" instead of "DESKTOP=CDE",
or you can also use the "ch_rc" command to
do it. See:
http://www.software.hp.com/products/GNOME/install.html#gnome
This will use gdm to login instead
it dtlogin. gdm allows you to choose
between CDE, GNOME, and failsafe.
Also, make sure you have this gdm patch
from Ximian:
