Going From Whole Disk to LVM

Hello Everyone,

I have a C160 that came pre-installed not using LVM. What is the easiest way to convert this from whole disk to LVM or do I have to reinstall the whole machine? Not sure how to proceed. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Re: Going From Whole Disk to LVM

If you have a tape drive, you can use make_tape_recovery, part of Ignite-UX, to create a bootable tape which you can use to re-install the OS. You can interact with Ignite and set up the disk any way you'd like, including setting up LVM partitions.

The easiest and guaranteed way is to do a reinstall of the OS, plus you can make sure you have a "clean" system with the latest patches.
