Graphics in hpux 10.20

I got a pretty old workstation with 2 graphicadapters, one internal (HP VISUALIZE-EG) and one additional card (HP VISUALIZE-48+) at slot 3a.

the internal card works fine when the OS is loaded.

But i only want to use the additional card. And thats where the problems starts:

When i try to configure it from sam (sam->Display->Monitor Configuration) i get the following error message:

At this time the /opt/graphics/common/bin/setmon command is failing to report any information about the HP VISUALIZE-48+ graphics device.

I would also like to use this card as console, but dont really know how to make it possible since neither of the graphics cards initializes before the OS is loaded...

Try graphinfo.

Re: Graphics in hpux 10.20

The errors is relating to setmon
and relating to the monitor !

.... what happens if you actually go into SAM -> Display-> Xserver config-> select the vis 48 card->goto Actions-> Add Screen to configuration

setmon just changes the screen res and freq.

Re: Graphics in hpux 10.20

well, it works without error messages to add an xserver to the display... but i guess that the gfxcard sends a frequency that is to high for the monitor to handle (got a hp A4033A). The monitor seams to only be able to view 1280x1024 at 72hz, non of the other modes in sam seams to work... and when trying the VISUALIZE-48+ card at another monitor it works! So i guess i need to find a better CRT...
