Re: Hard disk problem

Shalom,

More than likely the second disk is either dead or needs to be unplugged and plugged back in.

They do die sometimes.

Are there any lights on it at startup time?

Re: Hard disk problem

i tried to remove it then plug it again but no thing changed , the orange led is ON on booth hard drives while housekeeping power is applied to the server .

i swap the two hard drives the system can see the second hard drive this time ( But not the first that have the OS )

so i dont think it is a hard drive problem

any smart ideas ?!

Re: Hard disk problem

How many cells and core i/O cards do you have installed? In which slots are the disks?

If there is only 1 cell, the disks must be in the upper slots.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Hard disk problem

If you switch the slots the hard drives are in, and you can only see the drive in one slot, the you may have a bad slot. If so, it is time to call HP for support and have them look at the machine.
