hard drive fail : part III

Hello. Our HPUX 11.11 parisc 4440 recently had a hard drive failure. How can we determine if this is a hard drive failure or chassis port issue?

Is there a way to tell if this hard drive / disk failed or whether it may be a problem with the chassis?

Thanks,
Chad

Plug a new disk into that port. If the new disk seems dead, then chances are it is the port. If the new disk seems dead, there is also a chance that the new disk is DOA.
