Hardware Addressing
Hi Team
Can anyone explain me what is PCI Function and device ?
Hardware Path :1/0/6/1/0/4/0.8.0.255.0.0.0
1 = cell #1
0 = system bus adapter
6 = local bus adapter
1 = PCI device number =?
0/4= ?

It is important to know what server model it is!
# model
However, it is likely a combo card, fiber channel, the connection is a private loop.
In case of a cell-based server, try also
# olrad -q
or
# rad -q

Hardware Path :1/0/6/1/0/4/0.8.0.255.0.0.0
In general HW addressing is as follows :-
cell/sba/lba/device/function/target/lun
1/0/6/1/0 is the address of SCSI OR FC card
1 -cell
0 -sba
6- lba
1- controller
0- card
After this address you are entering fabric topology as per the address mentioned by you.
I/O Subsystem for cell based server : -
The cell board to the PCI-X board path runs from the CC (cell controller ) to the SBA, from the SBA to the ropes (buses ), from the
ropes to the LBA, and from the LBA to the PCI slots .
Please read page 15 for details & diagram
