hardware differences

Hi all:

Got a 2 node cluster that has HPUX 11.00 & SG 11.14.

1 node is a N4000-55 with CPU of PA 8600. The other node is a N4000-44 with CPU of PA 8500.

Are these hardware differences enough to cause problems with ServiceGuard?

Thanks!

Re: hardware differences

No, not at all. SG woudn't really know, nor care.

Re: hardware differences

No they are not.
You can for example have an L class, a K-class and a V-class all in the same cluster.
The only issues come down to having enough resoyrces to run the appliactions when the packages ar eactive on the node.

Re: hardware differences

Hi Rick,

there won't be problems due to hardware differences.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: hardware differences

Nope :)

The 550 and 440 MHz CPU models are virtually the same, and even MC/SG clusters with ia64 and hppa2.0 are said to work fine.

Rick - nice to see your new hat!

Hardware is fine...as others have said - you can even mix classes...
