Hi all,
Server: Standalone HP 9000/800/K580
OS: HP-UX 10.20
Memory: 3840 MB
Graphics: HP VISUALIZE-EG Color 1280X1024 8 Planes
UPS: A2998A
I need HELP please!
Last night this server shutdown automaticaly and at the console (On the front panel of server) have this message : PowerFail 3.3V
After I shutdown the UPS and all power is automaticaly shutoff. I restablish the power and in hardware initialisation step, the same message apear on the console (On the front panel of server) have the same message.
So I go on rear panel of UPS and I turn the switch to BYPASS mode and I restart the UPS.
The system boot normaly but I never seen the ISL or boot os on the console! But the server are ready and all process are UP.
I want to know if the graphics card is scrap or the device are busy (crt file in /dev).
Look the result of ioscan -funC graphics :
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
===============================================================
graphics 0 10/8 graph3 CLAIMED INTERFACE Graphics
Look the error message gived by mdesg :
g3_describe_data: Inquire conf STI call failed error(11)
graph3_attach(): display initialization failed!
Any idea ?

Solution
Hi Francois,
graph3_attach():Error occurred while attempting to display initialization initialize graphics hardware or while failed! loading firmware to initialize graphics hardware.
g3_describe_data: Internal graphics firmware error. Errno AA Inquire conf STI call may provide more detail. failed error (AA)
If you have a service contract, call HP. Looks like the firmware on the visualize card is corrupted or the card is dead.
Best regards,
Robert-Jan
