Hardware Path for 2 same LUN Number from 2 differnt Array
On a HP Unix server, What will be the Hardware path like C*T*D* for two same LUNS 0005 ,cu:ldev 00:31 from two different XP12000 arrays . Allocated to same server through same HBA . HBA is connected to Switch port 10 , Array 1 is connected to Switch Port 0 and Array 2 is connected to Switch Port 5 .
Also does the Controller number ' C ' depends just upon the HBA or it depends upon the compelte hardware path .

Re: Hardware Path for 2 same LUN Number from 2 differnt Array
The complete hardware path will be unique, but it is easier to use "xpinfo".
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Hardware Path for 2 same LUN Number from 2 differnt Array
Every hardware path is totally unique. There is no relationship between arrays -- each LUN presented will have a new CTD value. Look at the attached Fibre Channel concepts manual.
