Hardware-Upgrade rx4640 to BL860c with Ignite
To save time we want to clone our HP-UX 11i v2 installation currently on rx4640 to Bl860c hardware by Ignite mk_net_recovery booting over network.
Is it possible without a "golden image" and a dedicated ignite server. The orignal system (installed 2004) would be the ignite server.
Did anybody do that?
Which are the main steps?.
Thanks
Tamas

The Install Guide said: "It requires Windows NT or better". So I installed Linux.

Re: Hardware-Upgrade rx4640 to BL860c with Ignite
How to make a net recovery without a server?
You may try to image the server to itself without all the archives. However, you probably need to patch the source server to the latest. The target server will need some additional drivers too (sasd, etc).
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Hardware-Upgrade rx4640 to BL860c with Ignite
It's unlikely to work without making some changes to your existing system as the image on the rx4640 probably won't have all the drivers it needs for a BL860c (such as SAS disks for instance). You should read and digest this whitepaper on the subject here:
