Re: have connected to rx 8640
The best would be to review the vPar install doc but here is the loose list.
1) Install the os to the drive used for the 1st vPar.
2) Install vPar software
3) Configure hardware allocations for 1st vPar
4) Reboot from 1st disk using the vpmon
5) from vpar monitor boot 1st vPar
For second vPar there are a couple different ways. One way by using ignite, second by repeating the above steps.
Ignite:
1) Create an ignite image of 1st vPar.
2) From first vPar use vPar commands to allocate hw resources for 2nd vPar
3) Issue vPar boot of 2nd vPar from 1st vPar and tell it to boot from Ignite server.
Non-ignite:
1) using vPar commands on 1st vPar, allocate resources for 2nd vPar
2) take down 1st vPar and boot install cd
3) install OS to 2nd disk for 2nd vPar
4) reboot using /stand/vpmon as the kernel
Don't forget to set all the proper boot strings, autoboot, and LIFs on both boot disks.
