Having Problem with CDE on Workstations

Hi I'm a new S.A. working with Hp Unix I recently encountered a problem on two of my 20 workstations i had to reboot them so by using shutdown -r 0 i proceeded when the system came back up It when into a single user mode or remote mode and my CDE didn't launch the message roled by as X-server coun't determine display type. I logged in as root and was trying to locate where that file launches I'm not sure if i should try to setenv and try to put dtterm as a display type can anyone help

If the workstation booted up in single user mode it would not be able to run CDE full stop. Are you sure the workstation is in single user mode. You can check this with who -r .

Re: Having Problem with CDE on Workstations

I dont think this will help but, maybe
this is to enable and disable CDE

/usr/dt/bin/dtconfig -e to enable
/usr/dt/bin/dtconfig -d to disable

Reboot and give me twenty....

Re: Having Problem with CDE on Workstations

whoops i did not even read the question, sorry about the previous, there might be somwhere you can find how to change the display type in dtconfig in the /usr/dt/bin/ directory, also in that directory there is a command to change the display, you might want to do a man on dtterm that might help you
