Hi all,
I have someone who says that they purchased 2 x A7173 SCSI HBA controllers. They installed them and they say that running the command ioscan returns:
ext_bus 6 0/6/1/0 mpt CLAIMED INTERFACE SCSI Ultra320 A6961-60011
ext_bus 7 0/6/1/1 mpt CLAIMED INTERFACE SCSI Ultra320 A6961-60011
Is A7173 the same as A6961? The manual they received with the server is B2910-85000 and in it it mentions A6961-60011
but the installation manual for the HBA's ( HP A7173 PCI-X DUAL CHANNEL Installation Guide ) specifies that the output of ioscan should be:
SCSI Ultra 320 A7173-60091 :
ext_bus 6 0/6/1/0 mpt CLAIMED INTERFACE SCSI Ultra320 A7173-60011
ext_bus 7 0/6/1/1 mpt CLAIMED INTERFACE SCSI Ultra320 A7173-60011
Anyone have any ideas whats going on?

Second link uses a utility to verify the part. It would appear to me that these parts may be the same.
