HOW CAN I MOVE THE WHOLE STUFFS?
I OPERATE A MAIL SERVER(WHAT A OLD ONE!) WITH THE OPENMAIL SYSTEM HAVING ITS OWN JUKEBOX AND ITS BACKUP IS CONTROLLED BY A BACKUP SERVER USING OMNIBACK II ATTACHED WITH DLTs.
A NEW MAIL SERVER WILL BE BROUGHT AFTER 2 WEEKS AND I MUST MOVE THE WHOLE DATA(MAIL BOXES, APPLICATIONS AND OTHER USER'S DATA) IN THE OLD ONE TO THE NEW ONE.
FIRST, I WILL MOUNT FILE SYSTEMS AS THE SAME AS NEW ONE BUT THE SIZE. AND THEN?? THE NEW ONE'S ENVIRONMENTS MUST BE THE SAME AS THE OLD ONE. ITS USER INFOMATION, ITS NETWORK CONFIGURATION, ITS OPENMAIL CONFIGURATION, ITS OMNIBACK CONFIGURATION, AND SO ON, YOU KNOW.
IF I SET UP THE OMNIBACK ON THE NEW ONE, THERE WILL BE DIFFERENCE A BIT, I THINK. SO I WONDER WHETHER IT CAN BE POSSIBLE TO TRANSFER THE OLD ONE'S COLD BACKUP DATA TO NEW ONE USING DLTs WITH BACKUP SERVER OR NOT WITHOUT SUFFERING OR GETTING MAD.
.....AND THE CHIEF IS CHOKING ME....
WOULD YOU(!) PLEASE SHOW ME THE PROCEDURE TO MAKE IT? WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO FROM NOW ON?

Re: HOW CAN I MOVE THE WHOLE STUFFS?
Hi there.
First thing is a recovery tape.
With no network attached start the machine with this tape. Setup the basic system, configure the network and hook it to the network. Install OmniBack, setup the network variables in your system properly, read in the database from the old system and restore the filesystems not belonging to vg00 to the appropriate disks. Setrup the database environment properly ( network, messaging etc.).
This is just a shortie about the way, i owuld go.
