Re: How can I reset a GSP in a B.11.23 U ia64
Does you get the MP interface or a OS prompt?
On most servers there is a reset button, but you need to check the console settings too.
If the console is not configured to the MP, you cannot interact with the OS over the MP.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: How can I reset a GSP in a B.11.23 U ia64
It's a ia64 hp server rx2620.
I have tried
# stty +resetGSP sh: /dev/GSPdiag1: Cannot find or open the file.
I want to enter to the GSP and look the components HW, if all the fans and cpus are ok.
This server is far away of me.
Thanks,
Carmen.

Re: How can I reset a GSP in a B.11.23 U ia64
With root login, the following HP-UX command can be used to reset the GSP on machines that do not have a GSP reset button.
stty +resetGSP
This functions the same as pressing the GSP reset button, response to query on the system console is required
I suppose the above can be done in MP console too.

Re: How can I reset a GSP in a B.11.23 U ia64
The command is correct and should work.
Does /dev/GSPdiag1 exist on your system ? It exists on my rx2620 (crw------- 1 root sys 1 0x010080)

SolutionA MP cannot be reset with the "stty +resetGSP" command: you must use the physical reset button.
See the picture on this web page:
http://docs.hp.com/en/AD117-9003A/ch02s02.html
The "10/100 Management LAN" connector, the VGA port and the "Console/Remote/UPS" connector exist only if the MP is installed.
The CTRL-B keystroke only works if you connect your console to the "Console/Remote/UPS" connector. If you connect to the "Console/Serial port A" connector, the CTRL-B keystroke will never work, whether the MP is installed or not.

Re: How can I reset a GSP in a B.11.23 U ia64
It cannot be rest remotely, however if the manage card is installed, there is a button on the management card marked "MP RESET".
Pressing it and releasing it will reset the GSP.
Pressing and holding for 5 seconds will reset the card to factory defaults.

Re: How can I reset a GSP in a B.11.23 U ia64
If this works, you can reboot the MP in the Virtual Devices tab.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
