How can I set up a network printer using Window XP-Pro - Print services for Unix
My user set up this service on his computer and I am able to ping the device in Unix but when I try to set up a lp print spooler using jetadmin, it doesn't find the device.
Is there another way that I should be setting up this lp spooler que? Would anyone be able to give me advise on how to do this or point me to an article that would explain this to me?
Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot!

Re: How can I set up a network printer using Window XP-Pro - Print services for Unix
The document that Uday showed to me is helpful in setting up Windows but I still need to know what I have to do in Unix to finish setting this up. What kind of print que should I set up? What should I use to set it up? I can't use jetadmin because it looks for a jet direct card and this printer does not have one.
Thanks for your help!

Re: How can I set up a network printer using Window XP-Pro - Print services for Unix
also without jet direct card you can configure a printer. Simple test it. Has the printer network connection?
Configure it in SAM as a network printer and give it any MAC address.
Send a test print ...
It worked for me with a network based Kyocera.
The printer should know postscript!
Good luck

Client
http://www.software.hp.com/cgi-bin/swdepot_parser.cgi/cgi/displayProductInfo.pl?productNumber=B8724AA
Would this not allow the HP-UX box to print on any shared printers on the network?
I've never tried it, but in theory it sounds like a viable solution.
