How can i view ps files in HPUX

Hello Folks,

I need to see some documents that came into a tar file (Q4 debbugger sw). This docs are available in /usr/contrib/Q4/doc/.

If you know how can i see this docs, let me see.
Thanks

Rene

Most of this doc should be viewable with the vi editor.

If any of it is html, you can use a browser like netscape or mozilla to view the file in X-Windows.

CDE may have additional useful file/manual viewers.

Re: How can i view ps files in HPUX

The easist method is to simply print them on a postscript printer but ig you have an X display you can use Ghostview but you will need to install all the required packages.

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: How can i view ps files in HPUX

In CDE there sometimes (Solaris,Irix) is a Postscript viewer, and sometimes there isn't.

Right now, this is the 'is not' case, but You can use ghostscript http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/PostScript/ghostscript-7.07b/ (or maybe it was ghostview? It's available at the same site)
yesterday I stood at the edge. Today I'm one step ahead.

Re: How can i view ps files in HPUX

Ghostview is old, and probably will not play nice with newer versions of ghostscript

gv, it's better counterpart, is much newer, but has also not been touched for a while now

http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/PostScript/gv-3.5.8/

See http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/PostScript/ for more options

postscript itself is pretty current, and looking at the dates, ploticus might be an interesting option http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/PostScript/ploticus-2.30/ but the header sais graphs and plots
